Work Environment

This position is based onsite in our state-of-the-art surgical center in Hempstead, New York. You will be part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team that includes cardiologists, nurses, and other allied health professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive and focused physical assessments of patients to evaluate their physical and mental health conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs) and echocardiograms, to identify cardiovascular issues and tailor treatment plans accordingly.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment protocols based on the latest evidence-based guidelines, ensuring cost-effectiveness and safety in patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to formulate individualized, outcomes-based treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs.
• Educate patients and their families about managing cardiovascular conditions, lifestyle modifications, and medication regimens, including the potential side effects and interactions of prescribed drugs.
• Document patient histories, treatment plans, and progress to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
• Provide in-hospital care and manage patients beyond the outpatient clinic, including during inpatient admissions and emergency situations.
• Perform necessary procedures in accordance with established protocols, while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
• Participate in weekend on-call rotations to ensure comprehensive patient coverage when needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population includes individuals dealing with chronic and acute cardiovascular conditions, such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, and heart failure. As part of the cardiology team, you will engage with patients from diverse backgrounds, providing patient-centered care tailored to their specific health needs and circumstances.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
• Must be licensed to practice in the state of New York and hold the necessary certifications and credentials for cardiology practice.
• Prior experience in cardiology or a related field is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of three years of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a cardiology setting.
• Experience with advanced cardiovascular procedures and knowledge of the latest cardiology treatments and technologies.
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to effectively collaborate with a team and educate patients.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
