Job description

Location: Remote (United States)

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (W2)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing technology company that delivers software, data, and connected-service solutions to its customers. As the organization scales its delivery capabilities, they're building out a more mature Agile practice across multiple product and platform teams. We're hiring a Scrum Master on an initial 6-month contract-to-hire basis to embed with delivery teams, run Agile ceremonies, and help the organization strengthen how it plans, executes, and delivers software. This is a hands-on Scrum Master role supporting a mix of active projects — not a single-team, single-tool position.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • •      Serve as Scrum Master for one or more cross-functional Agile teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Support delivery across a mix of active projects spanning application/software development, data initiatives, and platform integrations — the specific projects will shift over time as priorities evolve
  • Coach Product Owners, engineers, and stakeholders on Agile principles and Scrum practices, and how they map to the broader SDLC (requirements through release)
  • Identify, track, and remove impediments and blockers affecting team velocity, quality, or delivery commitments, escalating when issues are outside the team's control
  • Partner with Product Owners to keep backlogs healthy, well-groomed, and appropriately sized and estimated ahead of sprint execution
  • Track and report sprint/release metrics (velocity, burndown/burnup, cycle time, sprint health) and translate them into actionable insight for the team and leadership
  • Partner with engineering and QA to ensure teams follow sound development, testing, code review, and release practices throughout the SDLC
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies where projects intersect with other delivery teams, data initiatives, or platform integrations
  • Manage and communicate risks, issues, and change impacts related to sprint and release commitments
  • Maintain Agile tooling (Jira boards, dashboards, reporting) to give accurate, real-time visibility into progress
  • Contribute to maturing Agile practices, templates, and ceremonies as the organization's delivery capability grows

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, supporting software, data, or platform delivery teams
  • Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how Agile ceremonies and artifacts map to development, testing, and release phases
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies for one or more teams simultaneously
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification
  • Proven experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build consensus across cross-functional teams, including business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and Agile concepts for stakeholders at all levels
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple teams, ceremonies, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting data-focused projects (reporting, analytics, data platform, or integration initiatives)
  • Experience supporting mobile application development and release cycles
  • Experience supporting CRM or business-systems platform projects (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks beyond Scrum (Kanban, Scrumban, SAFe)
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD practices as they relate to sprint and release planning
  • Experience operating within a PMO that blends Agile and traditional/phase-gate governance
