WHO YOU ARE:

The right-hand to our Store Manager and a true leader in your own right – that’s who we’re looking for. As an Assistant Store Manager at American Threads, you’re not waiting in the wings. You’re on the floor, setting the tone, supporting your team, and making sure every guest walks out feeling seen, styled, and excited to come back.You bring energy, accountability, and a genuine love for fashion to everything you do. You’re someone who steps up without being asked, leads by example without making it a production, and has a knack for making both customers and coworkers feel at home. This is a role for someone who’s ready to grow and has the drive to prove it.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Store OperationsSupport store opening and closing procedures – counting funds, balancing registers, completing nightly cash deposits, and securing the store at the end of the day
• Help manage controllable expenses and ensure loss prevention policies are being consistently followed
• Uphold American Threads policies and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for both associates and customers

Customer Experience & Sales:

• Show up to the sales floor with a positive, encouraging attitude that sets the standard for your whole team
• Use your product knowledge to connect guests with pieces they’ll love – acting as a true fashion stylist, not just a sales associate
• Partner with the Store Manager to drive revenue, exceed goals, and create a store experience that’s genuinely memorable
• Spot trends in KPIs, build action plans, and execute – because you understand that great service and strong business results go hand in hand
• Use POS sales reports to track performance and stay on top of what’s working (and what’s not)

Talent & Team Development:

• Step into the Manager-on-Duty (MOD) role with confidence – supervising the team and keeping operations running smoothly across all areas of the store
• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting and scheduling to make sure the right people are always in the right place
• Play an active role in onboarding new team members and helping them feel set up for success from day one
• Educate associates on product knowledge, current promotions, and customer services standards – building a team of confident brand ambassadors
• Support a culture of performance and accountability where every team member understands their role in hitting the store’s revenue goals
• Lead by example. Always. 

Visual Merchandising:

• Support the Store Manager in monitoring and maintaining sales floor inventory levels to keep the store looking full and intentional
• Read your customer – notice what’s moving, what’s stalling, and adjust floor placement accordingly
• Support the Store Manager in executing visual standards for company-wide promotions and seasonal rollouts
• Ensure the floor always reflects American Threads’ aesthetic – elevated, on-trend, and on-brand

WHAT YOU BRING:

• 2+ years of retail management experience in a like-brand environment – you’ve done this before and you’re good at it
• A leadership presence that people naturally gravitate toward – you set the tone without having to announce it
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the interpersonal warmth to match
• The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
• An eye for fashion and a working knowledge of current trends 
• Comfort with POS systems (RetailPro a plus) and a data-curious mindset that helps you turn reports into results 
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays 
• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours
• Frequent talking, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the shift
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs
