Summary:
The AVP, National Distribution Partners role is a senior leadership role responsible for driving enterprise growth through the development and management of strategic national distribution partnerships. This position leads business development initiatives, expands market opportunities, and executes distribution strategies that support profitable growth across all product lines.
The role is accountable for cultivating, developing, and maintaining executive-level relationships with key national distribution partners, including agencies, brokers, affinity organizations, and other strategic alliances. Working collaboratively across the organization, the AVP identifies and capitalizes large-scale growth opportunities, negotiates and manages partnership agreements, and ensures alignment between partner objectives and corporate priorities.
Success in this role requires a strong combination of strategic leadership, relationship management, and sales execution to maximize national distribution performance, expand market presence, and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute national distribution strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key distribution partners and affinity organizations.

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue large-scale business development opportunities.

  • Lead negotiations and strategic partnership initiatives that enhance distribution capabilities and competitive positioning.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align distribution efforts with organizational goals and product strategies.

  • Monitor partner performance, market trends, and growth opportunities to optimize results.

  • Drive profitable growth across all product lines through agency, broker, affinity, and strategic partner relationships.

Essential Functions:
Develop and Execute National Partner Distribution Strategy
  • Develop and implement strategic distribution plans that drive profitable growth through national agency, broker, affinity, and enterprise partner channels.

  • Identify and pursue new distribution opportunities that expand market reach and increase revenue across all product lines.

Lead Strategic Partnership Management
  • Cultivate, strengthen, and maintain executive-level relationships with key national distribution partners.

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and partner organizations to ensure alignment of mutual business objectives.

Drive Business Development and Growth
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and implement large-scale partnership opportunities that support enterprise growth objectives.

  • Develop and execute business plans with partners to maximize production, profitability, and market penetration.

Manage National Partner Performance
  • Establish performance metrics and monitor production, profitability, retention, and growth trends across national distribution relationships.

  • Conduct regular business reviews and develop action plans to address performance gaps and capitalize on growth opportunities.

  • Lead Enterprise Sales Initiatives

  • Collaborate with product, underwriting, marketing, operations, and distribution leadership teams to develop and execute sales and distribution strategies.

  • Champion initiatives that improve partner engagement, ease of doing business, and distribution effectiveness

Negotiate and Administer Partnership Agreements
  • Lead contract negotiations and oversee implementation of partnership agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and strategic objectives.

  • Manage ongoing partner governance and accountability processes.

Provide Market Intelligence and Strategic Insights
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging distribution models to identify opportunities and threats.

  • Provide recommendations to senior leadership regarding distribution strategy, product opportunities, and market expansion initiatives.

Represent the Organization Externally
  • Serve as a senior company representative with national partners, industry organizations, conferences, and association events.

  • Promote the company's value proposition and strengthen its position within key distribution markets.

Manage Financial and Operational Results
  • Develop forecasts, business plans, and budgets related to national distribution partnerships.

  • Monitor financial performance and ensure initiatives contribute to sustainable and profitable growth.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in insurance distribution, business development, sales leadership, strategic partnerships, or related fields.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, strategic initiatives, and complex partner relationships.

  • Demonstrated success developing and managing national distribution partnerships, broker networks, affinity relationships, or agency distribution channels.

  • Proven ability to drive profitable growth through strategic business development and sales execution.

  • Experience negotiating and managing complex distribution and partnership agreements.

  • Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance products, distribution models, underwriting principles, and market dynamics.

  • Exceptional relationship management, communication, negotiation, and executive influencing skills.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate performance, profitability, and growth opportunities.

  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and developing strategic business plans.

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office applications, and business intelligence/reporting tools.

  • Ability to travel nationally as needed to support strategic partner relationships and business development activities.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
