AMDA is currently accepting applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach courses within its intimacy and performance curriculum.

AMDA is seeking instructors with experience teaching performance-based courses and professional expertise directing, coordinating, or staging intimacy in rehearsal and performance settings.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintaining current knowledge of consent-based frameworks, communication practices, and professional standards related to intimacy in performance, and integrating this knowledge into studio-based instruction.ย
- Providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedulesย
- Creating and maintaining a student-centered environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinkingย
- Evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grading student workย
- Maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics both online and in-personย
- Fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty memberย
- Maintaining accurate academic recordsย
- Utilizing online classrooms and sustaining student engagementย
- Directing and facilitating scene work to support studentsโ practice of consent-based processes when engaging with intimate material.ย

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related fieldย
- Professional experience directing and/or coordinating intimacy in rehearsal and performance contexts.ย
- Candidates should have relevant teaching experienceย ย
- An appreciation for the traditions of a performing arts academic settingย
- Demonstrated leadership skills; style that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and facilitationย
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skillsย
- Commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learningย
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement instructional approaches with the effective use of technology.ย
- Ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning both in-person and onlineย
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of peopleย

Eligibility Requirements - Performance Credentialsย
- AMDA differentiates itself from other performing arts colleges by having students learn from "working faculty." Applicants must have performance experience within the industry; preference will be given to instructors with recent/current performance creditsย
- Experience with a variety of performance mediums (acting, musical theatre, camera, and dance)ย ย

- Masterโs degree in a related fieldย
- Higher Education teaching experienceย
- Certification in intimacy direction/coordination, or equivalent formal training and professional preparation.ย
