Position Overview

We are seeking dependable, customer-focused independent contractors to join our team as After-Hours Care Specialists. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for callers, assisting clients, caregivers, and office staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion.

This is a remote 1099 contractor position that can be performed from anywhere within the continental United States.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a friendly and professional manner
• Provide outstanding customer service and support
• Document calls accurately and efficiently
• Assist with caregiver scheduling and communication
• Follow office-specific procedures and protocols
• Prioritize urgent situations appropriately
• Multitask while utilizing multiple systems and applications

Qualifications

• Excellent phone and communication skills
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
• Experience in home care, healthcare, or customer service preferred
• Knowledge of ClearCare/WellSky is a plus
• Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
• Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
• Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet work environment

Schedule Requirements

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Weekend availability is required
• Flexibility to cover after-hours shifts as needed

The On-Call Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of after-hours support duties for Home Instead offices across the United States. Specialists are expected to answer each incoming call in a friendly, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable manner while responding promptly to the needs of clients, caregivers, and office staff.
The On-Call Specialist communicates schedule changes, call-offs, shift requests, and other important information to clients and caregivers. Specialists are also responsible for maintaining accurate records of all after-hours activities and documenting calls according to company procedures.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Specialists must demonstrate open and effective communication with the owner and fellow team members while ensuring company standards and client expectations are consistently met.
Knowledge of the WellSky (formerly ClearCare) operating system is preferred but not required. Previous experience in home care, healthcare, scheduling, or customer service is highly desirable.
This is a fully remote, work-from-home position available to qualified candidates anywhere within the continental United States.
