Role Description The Guest Engagement Assistant Store Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This role supports the Store Leader in driving an exceptional guest experience through engaging, service-focused interactions and a warm, welcoming store environment. Daily responsibilities include leading by example on the sales floor, coaching and guiding team members in guest engagement, and ensuring that visual standards and merchandising align with brand expectations. The Guest Engagement Assistant Store Leader helps manage daily store operations, maintains organization and cleanliness, supports team scheduling and communication, and assists with training new associates. This role also contributes to sales goals, promotes brand initiatives and giving campaigns, and partners with leadership to address guest feedback and improve store performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, provide clear direction, and build positive relationships with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive, and memorable experiences in a retail environment.
  • Experience in retail sales, including meeting or exceeding sales goals, understanding product features, and connecting guest needs to solutions.
  • Organization skills for managing daily store operations, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining a clean, well-presented sales floor.
  • Training and coaching abilities to support onboarding, develop team members’ skills, and reinforce company standards and values.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in retail or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
  • Commitment to Altar’d State’s mission of giving back and engaging with community and philanthropic initiatives.
  • Basic proficiency with point-of-sale systems and retail technology; ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
