Key Responsibilities

To ensure our practice runs smoothly and our patients receive top-tier care, your role will span clinical, surgical, and administrative duties:

Clinical & Surgical Support

• Surgical Assisting: Assist healthcare providers with office surgical procedures, prepare and administer local anesthetic, dress surgical wounds, and remove sutures.
• Provider Support: Perform patient intake, take histories, and assist providers with direct patient care.
• Scribing: Formulate accurate and efficient real-time charting—transcribing history, performing medication reconciliation, and assisting with sending prescriptions.
• Instrument Care: Decontaminate, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments.
• Lab Coordination: Properly label specimens obtained during procedures and ensure timely processing of labs or biopsies.

Patient Care & Communication

• Patient Education: Explain procedures, obtain informed consent, and provide education regarding various skin conditions and prescribed medications.
• Results & Continuity: Perform patient callbacks with biopsy results and coordinate medication refills/requests with appropriate specialty pharmacies.

Practice Operations

• Administrative Support: Schedule patient appointments, verify insurance eligibility, and assist with the prior authorization process by communicating with relevant stakeholders.
• Room Maintenance: Restock and prepare exam and procedure rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and sterile.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

We want to set our next team member up for success. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Prior clinical experience in dermatology is highly preferred, though recent graduates of an accredited medical education program are welcome to apply.
• Tech-Savvy: Experience with our Electronic Medical Record system, EMA by Modernizing Medicine, is a major plus. A strong willingness to learn new technology and software is required.
• Patient-First Mindset: A genuine passion for exemplary patient care and upholding high service standards.
• Team Characteristics: We are looking for a positive, self-motivated, and collaborative individual who is invested in optimal patient outcomes and their own professional development.
