Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and nuanced evaluations of clients’ mental health, utilizing various diagnostic tools and methodologies to inform individualized treatment plans.
• Provide tailored individual therapy sessions via teletherapy, employing evidence-based practices that resonate with each client's needs, whether addressing trauma, anxiety, or depression.
• Collaborate with clients to establish clear therapeutic goals, actively monitoring progress through regular check-ins and adjusting approaches based on their evolving situation.
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards, ensuring accuracy and accessibility in our electronic health record systems.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training, leveraging new knowledge to enhance therapeutic skills and approaches in alignment with best practices.
• Engage in regular consultations with fellow therapists to discuss challenging cases and share insights for improved client outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Therapist at Alta Med Medical Center, you will work with a diverse client population, including individuals facing chronic illness, grief, and mental health challenges. Our patients often seek assistance in processing their emotions and experiences related to end-of-life care, requiring high levels of empathy and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• A current and valid license in the state of Texas as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• An educational background consisting of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating the establishment of a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance with clients.
• Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach in dealing with sensitive client issues and experiences.
• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, enabling effective caseload management and timely administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology, enhancing remote therapeutic engagement.
• Direct experience in working with clients experiencing grief and loss, particularly within hospice or palliative care settings.

• Competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and caseload.
