  • Manage a high volume of inbound calls while providing professional, knowledgeable customer service.

  • Analyze and process special weight registration requests.

  • Update routing data daily to reflect current road restrictions, detours, and closures.

  • Communicate with carriers via phone, email, written correspondence, and in person to authorize permits, provide regulatory guidance, and resolve issues.

  • Provide customer assistance through multiple communication channels including telephone, email, mail, fax, and in person.

  • Coordinate enforcement and compliance efforts with law enforcement and regulatory partners.

  • Collaborate with engineering and district personnel to coordinate superload routes and verify roadway restrictions.

 Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two (2) years of post-secondary education in business, communications, or a related field may substitute for work experience.

  • Relevant experience in regulatory compliance, transportation permitting, logistics coordination, or program administration preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Advanced understanding of wheel and axle weight configurations in accordance with federal bridge standards.

  • Strong knowledge of permit classifications, vehicle configurations, and associated regulatory requirements.

  • Working knowledge of applicable state transportation codes and Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.

  • Ability to analyze routes using roadway, bridge, and width maps.

  • Strong technical comprehension skills with the ability to explain complex regulations in clear, everyday terms.

  • High-level customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with call distribution systems and standard office technology.

  • Understanding of ethics and confidentiality requirements.
