Paralegal – Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Contracts


Alpha BioMed IndustriesIrvine, CA (Hybrid)

Alpha BioMed Industries is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to support its legal, compliance, and business operations teams. This role will focus primarily on the preparation, review, negotiation support, administration, and management of business contracts related to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, laboratory, and life sciences sectors.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with healthcare and pharmaceutical agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, licensing arrangements, and other commercial contracts. The position will work closely with executive leadership, human resources, finance, sales operations, and external legal counsel to ensure contractual compliance and mitigate organizational risk.


This is a hybrid position based in Orange County, California, requiring periodic in-office collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

Contract Management & Administration

  • Draft, review, revise, and manage a variety of commercial and healthcare-related agreements.
  • Support contract negotiations by reviewing terms, identifying risks, and escalating legal issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain contract databases, renewal calendars, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Coordinate execution of agreements and ensure proper document retention.
  • Monitor contract expiration dates, renewal requirements, and notice periods.

Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Compliance Support

  • Assist with agreements involving healthcare providers, laboratories, distributors, suppliers, consultants, and business partners.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal and state regulations including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, FDA regulations, and healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Assist with legal and regulatory audits, due diligence reviews, and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain records required for regulatory and accreditation purposes.

Legal Support

  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings regarding healthcare, employment, corporate, and commercial law matters.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, employment matters, regulatory inquiries, and corporate transactions.
  • Prepare correspondence, legal summaries, corporate records, and reports for executive management.
  • Assist with company policies, corporate governance documents, and board-related materials.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Human Resources regarding employment agreements, confidential information agreements, and policy updates.
  • Support Finance and Operations teams with vendor and procurement contracts.
  • Assist Sales and Business Development teams with customer agreements and commercial transactions.
  • Provide guidance regarding contract administration processes and best practices.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Minimum 3+ years of paralegal experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, laboratory, biotechnology, or life sciences organizations.
  • Strong experience reviewing and administering commercial contracts.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and contract terminology.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Stud, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing, diagnostics, laboratory services, or healthcare organizations.
  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated environments and healthcare compliance programs.
  • Experience supporting employment law, corporate governance, or compliance functions.
