The Service Apprentice at ALLIED ELECTRIC INC is responsible for assisting experienced electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and training to individuals seeking to build a career in the electrical industry. The apprentice will learn to interpret blueprints, troubleshoot electrical issues, and adhere to safety standards while gaining practical skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist electricians in the installation and repair of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
- Learn to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Support the team in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in the electrical field.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a relevant technical or vocational program is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Min. of 3,000 hours of previous apprenticeship experience required.
- Previous experience in a customer service or support role is advantageous.
- Exposure to electrical or mechanical environments is beneficial but not mandatory.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, or working in confined spaces.
