North East Alliance Health Systems, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Miami, Florida. This full-time position emphasizes remote work, with the counselor primarily engaged in supporting elderly residents through a community health clinic setting. Work Environment

This role allows for a flexible, remote work environment, empowering our counselors to manage their schedules effectively while delivering exceptional care. The typical workweek runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing for a structured routine that enhances work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying unique psychological and emotional needs to inform tailored care plans.
  • Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, focusing on tackling common emotional and psychological challenges associated with aging.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement holistic treatment plans that enhance overall client well-being.
  • Provide education to staff and family members about strategies and resources available to support the mental health of elderly clients.
  • Deliver grief and loss counseling for clients and their families addressing issues that arise during end-of-life transitions.
  • Design and implement cognitive stimulation activities and therapeutic interventions aimed at promoting mental acuity in our senior population.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting elderly individuals facing various mental health challenges, including those experiencing dementia, bereavement, anxiety related to aging, and difficulties associated with life transitions. Engaging empathetically with this demographic is crucial, as many of our clients come from diverse backgrounds, necessitating a culturally aware approach to care.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • A minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant experience in geriatric counseling or mental health support.
  • Proficient understanding of evidence-based practices for promoting mental well-being specifically in older adults.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect emotionally and effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health, including expertise in addiction counseling.
  • Experience working within a community health setting that serves elderly clients.
  • A background in designing and facilitating therapeutic programs specifically tailored for seniors.
  • Familiarity with legal and ethical standards governing geriatric mental health practice.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 65,000 to 95,000, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, a sign-on bonus will be provided to the successful candidate.
