Job description

Join our Dupont Branch of the Allen County Public Library as a Part-Time Branch Assistant and immerse yourself in a world where literacy and learning come alive! Located in northern Allen County, the Dupont Branch serves a large and rapidly growing portion of our community. This onsite position not only allows you to support your community but also offers the chance to work in a busy, collaborative environment that values teamwork and inclusion. The position is 24 hours per week. Starting pay is $14.05-16.00, depending on experience.
SCHEDULE
  • Sunday: OFF
  • Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 1:15 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: OFF
  • Thursday: 5:00 PM - 9:15 PM
  • Alternating Friday/Saturday: 9:15 AM - 6:15 PM

What you'll do as a dupont Branch Assistant
As a Dupont Branch Assistant, you'll play a pivotal role in connecting patrons with the resources they need! Dupont has a very high circulation and is known for having the highest number of holds throughout the entire library system. Your day will be filled with exciting interactions as you assist customers in using library materials, checking items in and out, and helping them acquire requested items. You'll keep an eye out for any returned items needing attention and help patrons establish new library cards or replace lost ones.
Are you the Branch Assistant we're looking for?
To be successful as a Branch Assistant at the Dupont Branch, you'll bring a balance of strong customer service skills and comfort with everyday technology. You should be able to use library systems, computers, and standard office equipment with confidence, communicate clearly with patrons, and follow procedures carefully.
This role calls for someone who values relationships, respects patron confidentiality, and interacts with warmth, tact, and professionalism. Working well with your teammates and contributing to a welcoming, supportive library environment is key to serving this neighborhood well.
