About This Role

The Assistant Teacher role involves supporting Teachers and the Director in establishing a nurturing and secure environment for children, while participating in activities that enhance the overall quality of education. Effective collaboration and open communication are essential in this team-oriented position. Assistant teachers are responsible for observing and documenting children's interests and progress, and sharing this information with parents and staff. They work closely with the Teacher and Director to design and implement engaging activities tailored to children's needs and interests.


What You'll Do
  • Support the team in planning and executing curricula activities, promoting active child participation.
  • Actively engage in classroom activities, maintaining a clean and organized learning environment.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress reports.
  • Model good hygiene and self-help behaviors to encourage positive habits in children.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for children from home to the child care center on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations at all times.
  • Develop and maintain a professional growth plan to continuously improve teaching practices.

Requirements
  • Must pass a full background check.
  • Must clear health screening.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • High energy.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Must earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential by December 2019.
