Job description

JOB SUMMARY

ACS Security is hiring Security Patrol Trainees to work in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. This is a training program.  These officers are on a promotional path to advance from trainees to armed patrol officers within 6 months of employment.

JOB SPECIFICS

  • Work in a company vehicle
  • Regular full-time (40 hours a week) hourly position.
  • Must be able to work at least one weekend shift
  • Swing and graveyard shifts are always available.  May need to be available to work a day shift during initial training

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONISIBILITIES

Will be trained to:

  • Monitor and patrol premises to prevent theft, violence, and maintain general security of assigned post
  • Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
  • Maintain Daily Activity Reports, incident reports and accident reports
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and patrons
  • Respond to reasonable non-emergency requests and security related requests
  • Remain alert and vigilant while on duty to identify and observe any risks to clients or property and address them.
  • Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • CA Guard Card
  • Baton certificate AND pepper spray permit and equipment.  Candidates must have either the baton certificate OR the pepper spray permit prior to scheduling an interview
  • CA Driver’s License with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, and a clean driving record
  • Register, take and pass the BSIS (California Bureu of Security and Investigtive Service) PSI exam (mental evaluation) at a licensed site working with PSI who administers the test within 90 days of employment. This is a state required step to obtain an exposed firearm permit.
  • Must be able to take and successfully pass a drug test within 48 hours of the offer and meet the requirements of a background check
  • Must provide proof that of submitting an application for a firearm permit and possess a firearm at 6 months of employment or earlier, to continue employment.
  • High School graduation or GED
  • Must be able to take and successfully pass a drug test within 48 hours of the offer and meet the requirements of a background check

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficient verbal communication skills when interacting with clients, emergency services, community members and team members
  • Proficient written communication, documentation and report writing skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor/appearance while interacting with clients and the general public, including meeting uniform standards
  • Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use software and applications on a phone to access and input information
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
  • Drive a vehicle in a safe manner.
