Job description

OB-GYN Hospitalist | Multiple Texas Locations

A growing women's health organization is seeking board-certified or board-eligible OB-GYN hospitalists for opportunities in Texas.

Current locations include:

  • Arlington/Dallas–Fort Worth
  • Beaumont

Candidates may indicate one preferred location or express interest in both communities.

This position is built for an OB-GYN physician who wants to remain closely involved in labor, delivery, and urgent gynecologic care without maintaining an outpatient panel or carrying the administrative responsibilities of a traditional private practice.

The hospitalist works within a collaborative, midwife-led care model supported by in-house Certified Nurse Midwives, nursing teams, anesthesia providers, hospital staff, and clinical leadership.

A More Focused Way to Practice

The hospitalist model includes:

  • Seven 24-hour shifts per month
  • No outpatient clinic responsibilities
  • No RVU or productivity requirements
  • Certified Nurse Midwives providing in-house coverage and taking first call
  • A dedicated, team-based inpatient support structure
  • Predictable time away from work
  • Operational, administrative, and clinical leadership support
  • The ability to focus on hospital-based obstetrics and urgent gynecologic care

Specific schedules, hospital partners, patient volumes, and coverage arrangements will be reviewed during the interview process.

Your Clinical Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide hospital-based obstetric and emergent gynecologic care
  • Serve as physician backup and collaborator to the in-house Certified Nurse Midwife team
  • Manage higher-acuity obstetric patients
  • Perform cesarean deliveries when clinically indicated
  • Provide urgent and emergent gynecologic surgical care
  • Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, hospital, and women's health providers
  • Support evidence-based clinical practices and patient-safety standards
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the hospital's electronic medical record
  • Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment for patients and providers
Physician Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the start date
  • Active or eligible DEA registration
  • Strong labor and delivery experience
  • Ability to manage obstetric emergencies and perform cesarean deliveries
  • Collaborative, patient-centered approach to care
  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills

Several years of OB-GYN experience are preferred. Robotics training and prior clinical leadership experience may be required for certain locations.

Compensation and Benefits

The total package includes:

  • Competitive base compensation without RVU requirements
  • Annual performance-based bonus opportunity
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Health savings or flexible spending account options
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • CME allowance and paid CME time
  • Professional liability insurance with tail coverage
  • Paid parental leave
  • Clinical leadership and professional development opportunities

Additional incentives and relocation support may vary by location.

This is an opportunity to continue providing meaningful obstetric and gynecologic care within a schedule and support structure designed to sustain a physician career.

Apply once and tell us which Texas location or locations you would consider.
