Position Summary

The Global Sourcing Manager will lead our global sourcing strategy and manage a growing international supplier base. In this role, you will ensure our operations, quality, and engineering teams have reliable access to critical materials by identifying, qualifying, and developing suppliers worldwide with the highest commitment to quality. You will be responsible for driving cost reduction, mitigating supply risk, and embedding robust supplier quality systems across our global supply chain.

  • Global Sourcing & Supplier Development Develop and execute global sourcing strategies that identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers across regions to support New Product Development (NPD) and production ramp-up.
  • Establish and maintain a resilient global supply chain for critical commodities such as compressors, condensers, cast & machined items, electronics, and more.
  • Serve as lead liaison between internal engineering, operations, and quality stakeholders and a global supplier network spanning multiple regions and time zones.
  • Act as the key liaison between product engineering and manufacturing throughout the New Product Development (NPD) lifecycle, ensuring sourcing and supplier readiness align with design and production milestones.

Supplier Relationship & Quality Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key domestic and international suppliers, continuously evaluating performance to mitigate risk and optimize value.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to embed supplier quality systems (PPAP, APQP, control plans, ISO 9001) and drive root cause analysis and corrective action (8D/CAPA) on quality issues.

Cost & Risk Management

  • Lead RFQ development and competitive bid processes across a global supplier base, including should-cost analysis and contract negotiation.
  • Maintain the Costed Bill of Materials and track Purchase Price Variance (PPV) against it.
  • Coordinate communication with stakeholders during supply disruptions, including cross-border logistics and geopolitical risk events.


Education and Experience Requirements


  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain engineering roles, including demonstrated experience in global/international sourcing and supplier quality management. Preferable experience in hard-tech, HVAC, or advanced manufacturing environments.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Demonstrated global sourcing experience, having sourced components and materials from suppliers across Asia, Europe, and/or the Americas; working knowledge of Incoterms, international logistics, and import/export compliance preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing de-risked, high-growth sourcing strategies, building internal capabilities and external supplier partnerships holistically.
  • Experience with supplier relationship management, including supplier quality systems such as PPAP, APQP, control plans, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience performing vendor audits and measuring supplier performance metrics across a global supply base.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to identify design-for-sourcing opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction across sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures, languages, and time zones.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and proficiency in cost and should-cost analysis.
  • Ability to effectively use PDM, ERP/MRP, and related software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Familiarity with supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Commitment to quality and experience implementing supplier quality and compliance programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent periods of walking and standing, including time spent on supplier and manufacturing floor visits.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Must be willing and able to travel internationally to visit supplier and manufacturing sites, as needed.
