Job description

About Afronomias

Afronomias LLC is a cybersecurity and technology company focused on helping organizations and communities strengthen security through governance, risk management, systems intelligence, cybersecurity solutions, and education.

Our educational and community offerings make cybersecurity concepts more accessible through workshops, books, learning resources, and community programming.

We’re looking for a Community Partnerships & Education Sales Representative who can help us bring those offerings to more people.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys community outreach, relationship building, networking, education, and sales.

You’ll identify and connect with organizations and individuals who may benefit from Afronomias educational offerings.

Potential audiences include schools, colleges, nonprofits, community organizations, professional associations, businesses, educators, parents, and other groups interested in cybersecurity and technology education.

You do not need to be a cybersecurity expert. We’re looking for someone who can learn our offerings, communicate their value clearly, build relationships, and confidently ask for the sale.

What You’ll Sell

Depending on the campaign and customer, you may promote and sell:

  • Cybersecurity and Human-Centered Security workshops
  • Educational and community programming
  • Afronomias books and learning resources
  • Group or organizational workshop engagements
  • Other approved Afronomias educational offerings

What You’ll Do

You will prospect for potential customers and community partners; conduct outreach through email, phone, social media, networking, and other appropriate channels; develop relationships with schools, organizations, businesses, and community groups; identify customer needs and recommend appropriate Afronomias offerings; follow up with prospective customers; support opportunities through the sales process; collaborate internally when opportunities require marketing, leadership, or operational support; and maintain accurate sales activity and opportunity records within Afronomias systems.

This is a results-oriented contractor role, so you will have flexibility in how you develop your pipeline while remaining accountable for professional communication, accurate sales records, and follow-through.

Compensation — 10% Commission

This is an independent contractor, commission-based opportunity. It does not include a guaranteed salary or hourly wage.

The representative earns 10% commission on qualifying collected revenue from eligible attributable sales, subject to the applicable contractor agreement and Statement of Work.

Commission is based on qualifying revenue actually collected by Afronomias, rather than quotes, unsigned opportunities, or uncollected invoices.

For eligible publishing products, commission is calculated using the qualifying revenue received by Afronomias rather than simply the product’s retail price.

There is no fixed cap on the amount of qualifying business you can generate.

Detailed attribution requirements, payment timing, qualifying revenue rules, exclusions, refunds/reversals, and other compensation terms are governed by the applicable agreement.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you are comfortable starting conversations with new people, enjoy networking and building professional relationships, can work independently without constant supervision, communicate professionally in writing and conversation, are comfortable with performance-based compensation, can consistently follow up with prospects, and are interested in education, community development, technology, cybersecurity, or mission-driven sales.

Previous experience in sales, business development, fundraising, community outreach, education, recruiting, partnerships, customer service, or nonprofit engagement is helpful but not required.

Cybersecurity experience is not required.

Contractor Relationship

This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor relationship, not traditional employment. Contractors are responsible for managing their own work methods and applicable tax obligations consistent with their agreement and applicable law.

Why Afronomias?

This is an opportunity to help grow an emerging company while connecting people with cybersecurity education and resources that can have a practical impact in their organizations and communities.

Rather than selling a single product, you’ll have opportunities to build relationships around education, community engagement, cybersecurity awareness, and organizational development.

If you’re comfortable with commission-based sales and excited about building relationships in the community, we’d like to hear from you.
