Hybrid schedule: minimum 4 days in office weekly.

Education Requirements

Master’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required.

Responsibilities
  • Annuity & Insurance Product Due Diligence & Governance: Lead end‑to‑end due diligence and approval processes for annuity and insurance products, including variable, fixed, indexed annuities, and life insurance solutions. Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative assessments of product design, guarantees, crediting methodologies, fees, insurer financial strength, liquidity, and associated risks. Evaluate products based on client outcomes, suitability, and risk‑return characteristics across a variety of use cases. Prepare clear, well‑supported recommendations for Product Review / Governance Committees. Maintain consistent diligence methodologies, scorecards, and documentation aligned with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
  • Ongoing Monitoring & Risk Oversight: Establish and manage ongoing monitoring frameworks for annuity and insurance products across the product lifecycle. Track insurer financial strength, ratings changes, product performance, crediting adjustments, and contractual updates. Monitor regulatory developments impacting annuity and insurance products, including evolving suitability and disclosure requirements. Lead escalation and remediation actions, including product restrictions, guidance updates, or product exits when risk profiles change. Ensure robust reporting, transparency, and audit‑ready documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory review.
  • Carrier Evaluation & Product Insights: Engage with insurance carriers for product evaluation and due diligence purposes, including product structure, underwriting, and operational capabilities. Assess insurer financial strength using ratings frameworks (e.g., AM Best, S&P, Moody’s) and broader balance sheet considerations. Evaluate service models, operational efficiency, and policyholder experience as part of product suitability and risk assessment. Provide insights to Product Management on product positioning, competitiveness, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Partnership: Serve as a subject matter expert on annuity and insurance products for audits, exams, and internal reviews. Ensure alignment with FINRA, SEC, Reg BI, and applicable state insurance regulatory requirements. Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to maintain policies and procedures governing product approval, monitoring, and use. Support supervisory frameworks and guidance for advisors to ensure appropriate product usage and suitability.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement: Enhance diligence processes through improved tools, data utilization, and workflow efficiencies. Develop and track KPIs related to product performance, risk outcomes, and advisor adoption. Support automation and scalability initiatives within the due diligence function. Ensure depth and rigor of analysis are appropriately calibrated to product complexity and risk profile.
Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years of experience in annuity and/or insurance product due diligence, product management, or research within a broker‑dealer, insurer, or wealth‑management firm.
  • Deep expertise in annuity products (variable, fixed, indexed) and life insurance solutions.
  • Strong understanding of insurer financial strength analysis and ratings methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including FINRA, SEC, Reg BI, and state insurance regulations.
  • Experience presenting to governance committees and influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred: Professional designations such as CFA, CFP, CLU, ChFC, or similar.
  • Preferred: Experience working across both broker‑dealer and advisory/RIA platforms.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with retirement income planning and protection strategies.
  • Preferred: Experience improving or scaling diligence processes through technology and data.
  • Series 6/7 license required.
