Job description

AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region is seeking an Executive Medical Director (EMD) for its Cancer Service Line in the Denver Metro Area. This leadership role involves driving strategic growth and development across a multi-site oncology service line, expanding access to advanced treatments, and advancing clinical research. The EMD will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cancer care within one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.

Practice Info

  • Partner with engaged physician leaders and a collaborative multidisciplinary care team
  • Access to nurse navigators, care coordinators, social workers, and a strong regional network
  • Opportunity to expand clinical trials and academic partnerships
  • Currently NAPBC and INCP accreditations from the American College of Surgeons and Commission of Cancer
  • The Rocky Mountain Region includes 5 hospitals: AdventHealth Avista, AdventHealth Castle Rock, AdventHealth Littleton, AdventHealth Parker, AdventHealth Porter

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic growth, quality, and performance of cancer services across a five-hospital system and affiliated clinics
  • Align and partner with physician leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, high-quality, and cost-effective care
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing oncology physicians and subspecialists to support program growth
  • Expand and enhance clinical trials, research initiatives, and academic partnerships
  • Develop and grow Centers of Excellence across key tumor sites
  • Enhance regional referral networks and expand market presence
  • Provide clinical leadership while maintaining some clinical practice within the specialty

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $615,000 - $877,000
  • Executive-level compensation

Requirements

  • Visionary, collaborative, and highly credible physician leader
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and scale oncology service lines across multiple sites
  • Strong expertise in strategic planning, physician engagement, and program development
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and value-based oncology care models
  • Ten or more years of oncology (or related subspecialty) practice experience
  • Demonstrated success leading a nationally recognized cancer program
  • Board certified in area(s) of training
  • Ability to obtain Colorado physician licensure
