Job description

Step confidently into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with diverse physical education needs. This full-time contract role requires a dedicated professional skilled in Adaptive Physical Education to enhance student experiences at middle school campuses. Beginning in early September and extending through late November, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful impact during the crucial start of the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adaptive Physical Education) license
  • Demonstrated experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of adaptive PE curriculum design and implementation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and support teams
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for students of varying abilities
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized adaptive physical education programs to meet student needs
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress in motor and social/emotional development
  • Modify activities and equipment to support accessibility and engagement
  • Consult regularly with educators, paraprofessionals, parents/guardians, and other specialists
  • Contribute to IEP meeting processes and documentation for assigned caseload
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines for adaptive PE instruction
  • Rotate between Northdale Middle School and Roosevelt Middle School as assigned
