Senior Counsel - In\-House Legal Team for Leading Residential Developer\/Builder<\/b>

About the Role:<\/b>
<\/p>

As Senior Counsel<\/b>, you will report directly to the SVP, General Counsel, and be a pivotal member of our legal team. This role offers a unique blend of in\-house legal support with hands\-on experience across a variety of legal proceedings, including appearances in Superior Court, the Ontario Land Tribunal, private arbitration, small claims, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.

• Lead and Manage Legal Proceedings:<\/b>
  <\/p>\n

  • Represent the company in Superior Court, Ontario Land Tribunal, private arbitration, and other legal forums.
    <\/li>\n
  • Oversee and manage litigation strategies to effectively handle complex legal disputes.
    <\/li>\n <\/ul><\/li>\n

  • Legal Counsel and Advisory:<\/b>
    <\/p>\n

    • Provide expert legal advice on condominium applications, registrations, and other property\-related legal matters.
      <\/li>\n
    • Counsel internal stakeholders on legal risks, compliance issues, and regulatory developments that impact the business.
      <\/li>\n <\/ul><\/li>\n

    • Drafting and Negotiation:<\/b>
      <\/p>\n

      • Draft, review, and negotiate municipal agreements (e.g., site plans, development agreements) and private contracts to ensure alignment with company objectives.
        <\/li>\n
      • Collaborate with external counsel, municipal authorities, and other stakeholders to secure favorable outcomes.
        <\/li>\n <\/ul><\/li>\n

      • Strategic Planning and Compliance:<\/b>
        <\/p>\n

        • Offer strategic advice on a broad range of legal issues related to municipal development projects, including low\-rise, mid\-rise, and commercial developments.

        • Ensure all legal documentation and processes are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

          Requirements<\/h3>

          
          Qualifications:<\/b>

          • Experience:<\/b><\/b>
            <\/b><\/p>\n

            • A minimum of 5+ years in civil litigation, administrative law, and municipal matters.<\/b>
              <\/b><\/li>\n
            • Proven track record of handling complex legal proceedings and high\-stakes negotiations.<\/b>
              <\/b><\/li>\n <\/ul><\/li>\n

            • Expertise:<\/b><\/b>
              <\/b><\/p>\n

              • Extensive experience with drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts and municipal agreements.<\/b>
                <\/b><\/li>\n
              • Prior experience with Superior Court proceedings is highly desirable.<\/b>
