The Veterans Affairs business unit helps transform the VA into a modern digital services organization where Veteran outcomes are at the center of every effort. We partner with the VA to design and deliver seamless user experiences for Veterans, their families and caregivers, and VA employees. By applying better practices in service design, product management, and technology, we enable the VA to increase the use, quality, and reliability of services and decrease the time Veterans spend waiting for outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Manager I serves as an individual contributor within a team; upon the direction and guidance of leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. Primary expectations of a Product Manager I include:

• Focused on program tactical assignments in order to meet defined milestones

• Progressive engagement with agile methods to enable and support cross-functional workflows and the iterative delivery of products and features

• Works in conjunction with product leadership to devise the product roadmap, and other artifacts

• Translates user needs and business goals into well-defined user stories for design and implementation

• Supports a cross-functional team in the delivery of required deliverables and milestones

• Directly supports a product manager, or cross-functional product teams in order to meet delivery obligations.

• Develops effective user stories and related artifacts (e.g. business analysis, process flows, diagrams)

• Enables cross-functional workflows and the iterative delivery of features and products

• Responsible for collecting quantitative product data

• Supports stakeholders by gathering product requirements and aligning requirements to business goals

• Measures and reports upon key performance indicators

• Participates in agile ceremonies, inclusive of daily standups, backlog grooming, spring planning and team retrospectives

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience

  • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education

In support of various state and city equal pay transparency laws, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
