Active Therapy Associates is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at our hospital facility located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
  • Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, and physical activities that promote healing and pain alleviation.
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques to enhance their recovery and independence through well-structured home exercise programs.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.
  • Track and document patient progress, such as range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional gains, using electronic health record systems.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are organized and ready for use during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in an interdisciplinary team setting to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a motivating environment throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Uphold ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of your work.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a PTA at Active Therapy Associates, you will work with a diverse population of patients, including those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, and athletes seeking performance enhancement. Your role will be pivotal in guiding both adult and pediatric patients through their rehabilitation processes, adapting your approach to meet their specific needs and conditions.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant degree program, along with a valid state license or certification.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the principles of physical therapy interventions.
  • Capacity to implement therapeutic exercises and modalities effectively under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate efficiently with the healthcare team.
  • Compassionate disposition with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Detail-oriented individuals with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting is a plus, particularly within rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient documentation.
  • Continued education in specialized therapeutic modalities or advanced rehabilitation techniques.
Compensation and Benefits

Active Therapy Associates offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
