Job description
Colorado Springs, CO (On-site) | Part-time / Adjunct
Most career coaches help people update their resume. This role is about something bigger.
As an Adjunct Career Services Instructor at ACI Learning, you're the person who stands between a student finishing their IT training and actually landing the job that changes their life. You'll deliver live instruction, coach real people through their job search anxiety, and walk away knowing that your work produced outcomes, not just deliverables.
This is a part-time, on-site role in Colorado Springs, CO. It's built for someone who's done this kind of work before and knows the difference between going through the motions and genuinely moving people forward.
What you'll do
You'll deliver 20 hours of live instruction per cohort, working through a provided curriculum designed to get students job-ready in IT. You'll bring it to life, not just read from it. That means building rapport quickly, adjusting to where your students actually are, and creating a classroom environment where people feel confident enough to be honest about what they don't know.
Outside of live sessions, you'll spend up to 5 hours reviewing student deliverables: resumes, LinkedIn profiles, the things that get people in or out of the door. You'll give feedback that's direct and actually useful, not the kind that sounds encouraging and changes nothing.
You'll track student progress in CareerConnect, document completion of module deliverables, and flag where students are at risk of falling behind. You'll also bring a continuous improvement mindset to the curriculum itself: if something isn't landing, you'll say so and offer a better way.
What you'll need
- A bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Education, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience that gets you to the same place
- 3+ years in career services, workforce development, recruiting, or adult education
- Real working knowledge of job search tools: LinkedIn, resume platforms, ATS systems
- Strong communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to connect with diverse audiences
- The organizational discipline to manage multiple cohorts and meet your deliverables without a lot of hand-holding
What we'd like you to have
- Familiarity with IT and cybersecurity career pathways and what employers in those spaces are actually looking for
- Experience teaching or facilitating virtually, whether on Zoom or comparable platforms
- A background in post-secondary, vocational, or technical education as an instructor, coach, or mentor
- Experience with CRM or career services platforms for tracking student progress
- Genuine fluency with online professional branding and networking strategies
What we require
- Commitment to teach at least one class per quarter when cohorts are available
- Availability to participate in deliverable reviews at least once per month as needed
- Consistent, high-quality execution against student readiness targets: 90%+ of students finishing the course with a finalized resume, LinkedIn profile, and Prentus profile
- Maintaining a CourseCheck instructor rating of 4.8 or above, with an 80%+ survey response rate and student attendance rate per cohort
