    Job description

    Position Summary
    Part Marker is responsible for identifying aerospace components using approved marking methods, including laser marking, ink stamping, and data matrix marking. This position ensures all markings comply with customer specifications, engineering drawings, aerospace standards, and traceability requirements while maintaining product quality and part integrity.
    This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):
    • An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, or
    • An individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), or
    • An individual who is granted status as a "protected person"

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Review travelers, work orders, engineering drawings, and customer specifications prior to marking.
    • Verify correct part number, serial number, lot number, revision level, and other required identification information.
    • Set up and operate part marking equipment, including laser markers, Videojet, stamps, and other approved marking methods.
    • Generate and apply permanent identification markings, including:
      • Part numbers
      • Serial numbers
      • Lot numbers
      • Data Matrix codes
      • Other customer-required identification markings

    • Verify marking location, size, depth, orientation, and readability per drawing and specification requirements.
    • Inspect completed markings for accuracy and compliance.
    • Maintain traceability throughout the marking process.
    • Complete required production records and documentation.
    • Identify and segregate nonconforming parts.
    • Follow all quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
    • Additional duties as required.

    Required Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and work instructions.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to use measuring and inspection equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment
    To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:
    • Regularly stand and walk throughout the facility, stand for long periods to perform job duties
    • Regularly lift, carry (short distances), and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment
    • Occasionally reaches overhead and reaches out or down to perform duties
    • Frequently climb steps, stairs, or ladders
    • Occasionally bend, crawl, stoop, squat, or kneel
    • Frequently uses hand or fingers to manually inspect parts, tighten hardware & fixtures, and operate tools and material handling controls
    • Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices

    Working Conditions
    Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment where working conditions may vary significantly; the employee will be exposed to:
    • Excessive noise (hearing protection required)
    • Dust, smoke, mist, fumes/vapors (occasionally)
    • Extreme temperatures (occasionally)
    • Hazardous equipment including forklifts, hand tools, cranes or other lifting devices, and other equipment used in a machine shop environment (continually)

    The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and use of safety footwear is required
