    Job description

    Advanced Practice Provider – Acclaim (SICU)

    The Advanced Practice Provider practices under the direct supervision of the Surgery/Critical Care supervising physician and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the inpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments; order tests and serve as a patient's healthcare provider.

    Duties and Essential Job Functions:

    • Collaborates with the Trauma/General Surgeons, Critical Care Intensivists and other APPs in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all SICU patients, to optimize quality patient care.
    • Reviews patient medical charts to assist physicians with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
    • Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
    • Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
    • Provides care education to patients and families.
    • Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
    • Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
    • Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
    • Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings; and is an active participant in the process.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program AND 2 years of clinical experience preferred.

    Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

    • Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license (AGACNP/ACNP) with RNFA
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
    • Pediatric Life Support (PALS)
