Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different?

At Apria, you will experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This role offers a balance of branch-based and field-based respiratory care while supporting patients transitioning from hospital to home.

Key Highlights

• Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 85% office, 15% field

• Driving Territory: Up to 1 hour from branch

Salary Range

• $27.00–$35.00 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors including experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

On-Call Transparency

• Rotating on-call schedule shared with other Respiratory Therapists

What You'll Do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow ups

• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance

• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately

• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs

• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams

• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation

• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition

• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs

• Performs other duties as required

What We Look For

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active MO RT license. IL RT License is a plus or willingness to obtain.

• Open to candidates with varying experience levels; 1+ year preferred

• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.

• Valid driver's license

• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy

• Hold a current CPR Certification

• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
