The Government is seeking qualified Industrial Hygiene Technicians to provide Bioenvironmental Engineering (BE) and occupational health support at Hill AFB, UT. This role supports the 75th Medical Group by conducting industrial hygiene surveys, exposure assessments, and maintaining occupational health surveillance data to ensure compliance with federal occupational health and safety standards.
Due to current staffing shortages within the BE Flight, contractor personnel will play a critical role in sustaining mission readiness and occupational health compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform a full range of industrial hygiene and occupational health duties
Conduct health risk assessments with emphasis on:
Chemical exposures
Physical hazards
Perform routine and special surveys including:
Noise monitoring
Industrial ventilation assessments
Personal air sampling
Document worker exposure data and provide control recommendations
Maintain and manage IH data in DOEHRS (Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System)
Prepare written reports, correspondence, and survey documentation
Utilize standard office and medical equipment
Communicate effectively with medical staff, leadership, and administrative personnel
Ensure compliance with Privacy Act, HIPAA, FOIA, and other applicable regulations
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Health & Safety
OR
Prior certification as a 7-level Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician or equivalent
Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial hygiene
Experience requirement may be waived with relevant internships and a BS degree
Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
40 hours per week
No overtime without Contracting Officer approval
Federal holidays observed per Service Contract Act
Ability to lift and carry 20–30 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, or sit for prolonged periods
Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer systems
Strong communication, customer service, and professional ethics
