ABF is looking for someone to take over as Vice President of Construction!
If you are currently project manager or hold a key position in construction project management (civil, industrial, and commercial), you may be the ideal candidate to advance to a management role within our company.
We are looking for a Specialized Construction Manager who will play a key role in our operations. She will be responsible for project management and supervising field teams, while ensuring the quality and profitability of projects.
This role involves working directly with the president, the CEO, and other members of senior management, providing strategic insight and a comprehensive view of the organization.
More specifically, the Construction Manager will be responsible for:
Project Management
- Support superintendents in their decision-making and in sound workforce management;
- Monitor schedules and take action as needed to keep operations on track;
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure that work is proceeding smoothly;
- Support field teams in resolving technical or logistical challenges.
Financial Management
- Analyze and monitor construction site productivity and project costs;
- Handle disputes and claims;
- Review and approve contracts;
- Review legal and contractual documents (insurance policies, surety bonds, occupational health and safety documents, etc.);
- Track letters, notices, and memos related to projects.
Compliance
- Monitor compliance with procedures for the pre-assembly and installation of prefabricated components;
- Monitor site inspections;
- Ensure that the work meets quality requirements;
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and requirements.
Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain effective communication with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers;
- Attend follow-up meetings and negotiate any necessary adjustments;
- Work in close collaboration with various internal departments;
- Align one’s actions, decisions, and behavior with ABF’s mission and values.
Team Management
- Supervise project managers and project teams;
- Promote a culture focused on performance, quality, and safety;
- Encourage continuous improvement, process optimization, and cost reduction;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Work location: Victoriaville, QC
- A university degree in engineering related to the construction field and a recognized engineering degree.
- At least 10 years of experience managing large-scale projects in the construction industry;
- Excellent knowledge of the laws, standards, and regulations in effect in Quebec and Ontario in the construction industry;
- Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, in French and English (English-speaking clientele).
