Job description

Basic Function

Dynamic leader in sustainable resource management, providing clean water, renewable energy, and water treatment as a service Project Engineer with a strong project execution background to join the company’s team. The ideal candidate will be a pro-active problem solver capable of working with the Project Manager to engineer wastewater-to-energy plants to customers on time and on budget. Role includes providing site engineering, construction, installation, and commissioning support to the project execution team-members. Candidate will be able to perform a variety of project engineering and field engineering tasks, including support of site engineering and system installation, coordination with equipment suppliers, sub-contractors, customers.

To be considered, you must have experience in water, wastewater, food and beverage manufacturing, chemical process design, or similar fields, and familiarity with the basics of wastewater treatment equipment. Strong communication, problem solving, self-organizing skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and the environment, will thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial setting, be self-motivated, and have an interest in cutting edge technology. Typical Duties
  • Support Project Manager in coordination with internal resources, external subcontractors, and consultants to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Understand Project budgeting, updates and reporting
  • Plan, sequence, and maintain project schedules with support of engineering and subcontractors.
  • Responsible for selection of pumps, process equipment, valves, and instruments
  • Coordination with suppliers and vendors for equipment selection, quality requirements and delivery schedules
  • Manage project documentation, including determining which documentation is required for a given project, ensuring that proper revisions are made throughout the delivery process, and establishing standards that are in-line with industry.
  • Coordinate requirements of governing authorities for permits, inspections, and final approval of the project.
  • Support the Project/Construction Manager during construction and commissioning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, environmental, mechanical, marine, facilities engineering or similar.
  • Experience in the wastewater or food and beverage manufacturing industries of equipment systems that use aerobic and/or anaerobic digestion technology to treat wastewater, and the
    subsystems which support them.
  • 3+ years with total project responsibility for complex equipment systems in excess of $1 million dollars.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with vendors, customers and trades including electrical, piping and construction personnel.
  • Superb ability to interact with customers, including strong communication and presentation skills, affable, and demonstrated maturity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated experience in process engineering problem solving and system integration, preferably in the food and beverage processing or wastewater industries.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to exhibit strong leadership ability and have a professional demeanor.
  • Proactive, problem-solving personality required.
