Job description

Position: Finance Manager - Truck Equipment Division
Reports to: Divisional CFO, Truck Equipment
Location: Addison, TX
About American Trailer World
American Trailer World ("ATW"), a Bain Capital portfolio company, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of trailers and truck equipment in North America. ATW is focused on operational excellence, disciplined growth, and continuous improvement, offering meaningful exposure to senior leadership in a results-driven environment where Finance plays a critical role in decision-making and strategic execution.
ATW Truck Equipment (TE) division comprises four leading brands that together are category-leading manufacturers of truck beds and bespoke truck bodies in North America. Together these established businesses are scaling rapidly through new channels and capacity expansions. To guide these efforts and drive impact, the TE Finance function is actively expanding scope across commercial analytics, plant performance, strategic initiatives, and more.
Position Summary
The TE Finance Manager is a high-impact individual contributor who will serve as deputy to the Divisional CFO and the operational owner of Truck Equipment Finance. This role is built for an aspiring CFO who is a self-starter that independently runs the function with compounding ownership of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and decision support modeling.
You will be trusted to surface emerging risks and explore internal opportunities with Commercial and Operations leaders, make recommendations, and represent Finance directly in cross-functional decision forums. You will partner closely with plant managers, sales leadership, and Corporate FP&A, and contribute to quarterly Board materials and ad hoc analyses for the division.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for manufacturing division's financial planning and analysis cycles, both tactically and strategically, through budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, variance analyses, and decision support modeling
  • Generate reporting around key performance indicators and influence business leaders to continually optimize metrics
  • Monitor location-level performance and establish regular operating cadence to collaborate with TE leadership in improving plant performance
  • Provide regular analysis and presentation of profitability at various levels of abstraction (e.g., brand, plant, product category, customer and parent organizations, basic trading area (BTA), unit-economics), focusing not only on the "what" but also the "why" to ensure root causes are understood and acted upon
  • Engage in and lead ad hoc projects which may include areas such as product and channel growth initiatives, working capital versus sales opportunity optimization, freight efficiency, facilities capacity planning and optimization, and location invest/divest decisions
  • Support annual strategic planning activities
  • Support due diligence on and integration of potential acquisitions
  • Manage projects to drive better financial performance, including defining project goals, generating timelines, influencing cross-functional subject matter experts, presenting proposed solutions to senior leadership, and supporting implementation of plans
  • Ensure month-end results and associated reporting are properly communicated and analyzed
  • Clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generating alternatives and driving positive change

Qualifications & Key Competencies
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in analytical roles supporting financial and operational decisions
  • Background in Transaction Advisory, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Management Consulting, or PE-backed FP&A
  • Advanced financial modeling skills built on a sound foundation of financial management and accounting concepts
  • Proficiency in mathematical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability to work efficiently with large datasets
  • Genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies; comfort experimenting with tools like Claude to drive efficiency in analysis, reporting, and workflow automation

Preferred, though not required
  • Manufacturing industry experience, exposure to plant operations, inventory accounting, and COGS dynamics
  • Fluency in building Power BI dashboards from scratch, SQL, Python, Hyperion (or comparable EPM platform)
  • Hands-on experience with ERP source systems

Key Competencies
  • Ownership - cares deeply about the accuracy and quality of outputs
  • Curiosity - crafts questions thoughtfully; listens carefully to others; diligently investigates all assumed narratives against available data
  • Empathy - demonstrates emotional intelligence; strives to maintain strong working relationships across the organization; celebrates the wins of others
  • Motivation - internally driven to deliver the maximum possible value to the organization; demonstrates initiative to continuously reassess priorities, tasks, and deadlines and balance time/effort across competing priorities
  • Good team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills; incumbent must be sought after as a subject-matter expert who can be relied upon to provide valuable insight and data-driven recommendations
  • Proven ability to complete duties with limited direct supervision and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to design and pressure-test financial models with rigorous accuracy
  • Ability to understand business models, including commercial strategy and operations, and form links to financial implications
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with business leadership and staff across the organizational chart
  • Ability to switch gears quickly and work cross-functionally with different departments in Truck Equipment and Corporate teams
