A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time, exempt Director Student Support - Enrollment Services on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. This position provides leadership and accountability for student support by coordinating communications, processes, and creative solutions across the functions of Enrollment Services, including academic records, student financial aid, veteran education benefits, international student services, and the University Catalog. The position serves as a central resource that brings together these functions to enhance collaboration, ensure compliance, and support an exceptional experience for students, faculty, and staff. The Director Student Support - Enrollment Services reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor - Enrollment Services.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for student support functions across Enrollment Services, including academic records, financial aid support, quality assurance, customer service, staff development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient, compliant, student-centered operations.
  • Interprets and implements federal and state regulatory guidance by translating complex requirements into clear operational processes and communications that ensure institutional compliance. Coordinates Enrollment Services reporting, manages the annual publication of the Enrollment Services Policies & Procedures Manual, serves on institutional committees, and maintains professional expertise through ongoing training, conferences, and professional development.
  • Oversees and manages the ATSU University Catalog serving as the system administrator for the catalog content management software.
  • Serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for Student & Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) which allows F-1 Visa students to study at ATSU. PDSO responsibilities include the oversight of ATSU’s Designated School Officials (DSOs), maintaining institutional compliance for ATSU with US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), and seeking SEVP approvals for new campus locations and programs when appropriate.
  • Oversees the Federal VA Educational Benefits Program for ATSU and serves as a School Certifying Official (SCO). Responsible for meeting and maintaining compliance with VA requirements, working with 3 different State Authorizing Agencies (SAA) for Missouri, Arizona, & California, including oversight for compliance surveys conducted independently by the 3 different SAAs.
  • In partnership with Student Affairs and the Enrollment Services leadership team, responsible for maintaining compliance regarding regulated content on the ATSU website (such as the Consumer Disclosures section), the Enrollment Services public web pages, the internal Enrollment Services Faculty/Staff Support Site, the ATSU University Catalog, the Enrollment Services section of the ATSU Student Handbook, the Enrollment Services Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Enrollment Services Communication Plan.
  • Lead operational improvement and technology initiatives by serving as a functional partner for Student Information System enhancements, software implementations, process improvements, testing, and collaboration with Information Technology Services and university stakeholders.
  • Oversees specialized Enrollment Services programs, including financial aid advising, National Student Clearinghouse services, criminal background check processes, diploma and transcript operations, and financial literacy initiatives, while managing departmental purchasing activities and assisting with budget monitoring.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Three to six years experience is required in: higher education leadership, preferably within academic programs, financial aid, registrar, student affairs, or a related administrative function; interpreting and implementing federal and state regulations, institutional policies, and compliance requirements; leading cross-functional projects, operational process improvements, and technology or system implementations; supervising and developing professional staff; and collaborating with university leadership, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
