The Principal Analysis Engineer is responsible for leading and performing static and dynamic stress analysis on various products developed by the collective engineering team. They develop and review reports detailing failure modes and recommend design solutions to reduce risk during qualification testing and product deployment. They utilize analysis programs such as Abaqus, Optistruct, Hypermesh, and LS-DYNA, overseeing supplemental tool development. The Principal Analysis Engineer manages the analysis workload, ensures staff training, assists in budgeting analysis software, and supports bids and proposals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the analysis team and perform analysis using various programs.
  • Develop and review analysis reports.
  • Produce technical writing to support corporate needs.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in static and dynamic stress analysis in a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) solver or 5+ years directly related to ArmorWorks’ products
  • Expert understanding of static and dynamic analysis theories
  • Strong work ethic, problem solving, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with DoD product development related to ground combat, marine, and aircraft platforms
  • Analysis experience with composite materials
  • Experience using SolidWorks
