Location: AMVC Swine Health Services, Frankfort, IN

Type: Full time

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The Land Nutrient Specialist helps oversee the organization’s environmental performance and ensures farms are operating sustainably while also complying with State & Federal environmental regulations. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Prepare, organize, and administer manure management plans

· Discuss manure plan requirements to farmers, customers, manure applicators, and other necessary individuals

· Maintain databases of information pertaining to the manure plans and soil samples

· Assist in organizing and coordinating manure application including record keeping

· Ensure farm environmental record keeping is maintained across numerous states

· Conduct periodic farm visits to ensure environmental compliance is followed

· Monitor mortality management and troubleshoot issues

· Understand and ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols

Requirements:

 QUALIFICATIONS

-Preferred 2 or 4 year degree in an agricultural related field

-Preferred skill in using computers, Microsoft Office, and mapping software to manage databases (GIS)

-General agriculture knowledge


JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

-Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and process data and develop recommendations and action plans

-Occasional travel is required

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

-About 70% of this job is office and 30% is field time
