Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare (AMI) is seeking compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team supporting the Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality primary care services to our nation's Veterans while working within a collaborative and patient-centered healthcare environment.
As a member of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), you will play a vital role in coordinating care, supporting providers, and helping Veterans achieve positive health outcomes.
LPNs will provide direct nursing care and clinical support within a Primary Care clinic setting at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, the LPNs will coordinate patient care, support chronic disease management initiatives, and ensure Veterans receive exceptional healthcare services.
Key responsibilities include providing direct patient care in an outpatient Primary Care environment, obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, and clinical information, preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, assisting physicians with clinical care activities, performing clinical support duties within the scope of LPN licensure, reinforcing patient education related to medications, treatments, wellness, and preventive care, monitoring patient conditions and communicating concerns to supervising clinicians, assisting with care coordination, referrals, specialty consultations, and follow-up appointments, maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation, supporting infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring proper handling, maintenance, and inventory of medical supplies and equipment, and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborative care activities.
Qualifications include an active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in any U.S. state or territory, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum of one (1) year of LPN experience within the last three (3) years, strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process.
