About the Role:

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health services to individuals across diverse settings within the United States. This position is responsible for conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions to support clients' mental health and well-being. The QMHP collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and effective care. Additionally, the role involves monitoring client progress, documenting clinical activities accurately, and adjusting treatment approaches as needed to achieve optimal outcomes. Ultimately, the QMHP contributes to improving the quality of life for clients by promoting recovery, resilience, and community integration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related human services field.
  • Certification or licensure as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as required by the state of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals experiencing mental health disorders.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health assessment tools, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to comply with confidentiality, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in mental health care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management.
  • Training in evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Bilingual skills or cultural competency training to effectively serve diverse communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate clients' psychological, emotional, and social needs.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services, including counseling, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation to individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share information, and participate in case conferences.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies to address evolving needs and challenges.
  • Advocate for clients' access to community resources and support services to enhance recovery and social integration.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in mental health care.
