Job description

Role overview

You’ll support night warehouse operations by loading delivery trucks, moving and sorting products, storing perishable goods, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, and preparing orders accurately for daily deliveries.

What you’ll do

  • Load delivery trucks accurately and efficiently for daily deliveries.
  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and pick lists.
  • Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Sort, place, and stack items on racks, shelves, or bins according to assigned locations.
  • Store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Mark materials with identifying information as needed.
  • Open pallets, bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of material or product received.
  • Coordinate with forklift operators to arrange products for shelving.
  • Assist with maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
  • Pull employee sale contents, sample orders, and customer pickup orders.
  • Operate trucks to move to loading docks.
  • Complete other warehouse duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.

What you’ll need

  • High school diploma, GED, equivalent education, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Good driving record.
  • Proof of insurance.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • No special computer skills required.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and a pallet wrapper.

Physical and work environment

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Regular lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting or moving up to 100 pounds for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required.
  • Work may include wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, outdoor weather, extreme cold, extreme heat, electrical shock risk, and vibration.
  • Usually loud warehouse noise level.
