Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer – Structural
Location: Loveland, CO
Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 + (DOE)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Overview:
A reputable and growing structural engineering firm in the Loveland, CO area is seeking a Project Engineer with 4+ years of experience to support the design and coordination of building projects across multiple sectors. This individual will lead technical efforts, coordinate with other disciplines, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality design documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop structural engineering designs for buildings and specialty structures.

  • Perform hand and computer-based structural calculations.

  • Review and produce construction documents and specifications.

  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Assist in preparing proposals, estimates, and technical reports.

  • Support project managers in tracking deliverables and resolving technical issues.

  • Perform quality control checks on engineering drawings and calculations.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.

  • Maintain current knowledge of building codes, structural materials, and analysis methods.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of structural systems: steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.

  • Experience with software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, RISA, RAM, and Enercalc.

  • Familiarity with seismic and wind load analysis, foundation systems, and lateral design.

  • Ability to manage tasks across multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with condition assessments, retrofits, or repairs is a plus.

Education & Credentials:

  • BSCE or BSSE (required).

  • MSCE or MSSE (preferred).

  • PE license in Colorado or ability to obtain quickly (required).
