About the Role

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will play a pivotal, high-visibility role in the preconstruction process. You'll lead the estimating effort on large, complex mechanical projects — owning pricing strategy, mentoring junior estimators, and serving as a key voice in bid strategy discussions with senior leadership.

What You'll Do:

🔹 Lead take-offs and cost estimates for large-scale mechanical (piping, plumbing, sheet metal, HVAC) projects from concept through final bid

🔹 Review and analyze complex project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine full scope of work

🔹 Conduct site visits to gather data on project conditions and constraints

🔹 Develop comprehensive bid proposals outlining scope, cost breakdown, and key qualifications

🔹 Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors, maintaining strong supplier relationships

🔹 Identify and assess project risks, proposing mitigation strategies that protect margin

🔹 Collaborate directly with project executives, project managers, architects, and engineers to refine estimates and align with project goals

🔹 Mentor and support junior estimators, helping build a stronger, deeper estimating bench

What We're Looking For:

✔ 5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating (piping, plumbing, sheet metal, HVAC)

✔ Proven track record estimating large, complex commercial and industrial projects

✔ Proficiency in estimating software

✔ Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation abilities

✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

✔ Leadership or mentorship experience a plus
