The Position We're seeking a Medical Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team and take ownership of day‐to‐day financial operations for Thrive (Top Nutrition Coaching), while also providing accounting support across the Receptive family of companies.

This role is ideal for a detail‐oriented bookkeeping professional with experience in medical billing and insurance claims who's eager to contribute to a mission‐driven, fast‐growing healthcare organization. You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, analyzing and posting entries within our accounting systems in a timely and precise manner.

Process accounts payable invoices and payroll, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely payments. Record and reconcile daily transactions, including revenue, cash receipts, payroll entries, and expense classifications. Manage medical insurance receivables cycle (billing, rejection management, denial resolution, collections, documentation and reporting) using ClaimMD and other insurance billing systems.

Process remittances via mail, including scanning and documenting submissions, claims denials and regulatory agency correspondence. Collaborate with the operational team to ensure financial goals are met. Support the financial team with reporting and ad hoc projects.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise 2+ years of experience in medical insurance claims management (billing, coding, etc.) within a clinical or specialty practice setting—preferably using ClaimMD or a comparable system. Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll functions. Solid understanding of State and Federal healthcare laws and regulations (HIPAA).

Experience with bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills. Strong grasp of the medical claims cycle, including billing, denial management, and collections.

Detail‐oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ethical, professional, and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Self‐motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Familiarity with third‐party claim inquiry tools and other medical billing platforms. Experience working in a telehealth, behavioral health, or clinical environment. Demonstrated process improvement mindset with experience streamlining financial workflows.

Strong collaboration and communication skills—comfortable working cross‐functionally with operations and finance teams. Passion for contributing to a mission‐driven organization that's expanding access to care. Logistics Time Commitment This role is a full‐time position and requires overlap with US PST for the majority of the workday.

It is an exciting opportunity demanding dedication beyond the standard 9 to 5. Location We are fully remote – you can work wherever you're most productive. The role requires you to be located anywhere within the United States.
