Description:

Summary:

The Production Associate (Packer), 1st Shift, Monday thru Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm each day, is responsible for all end-of-line activity packing finished products, regrinding scrap materials and filling hoppers with materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Sorts, counts and packages finished products coming off the end of the line. Sometimes this finished product is coiled on reels, pancake coiled on flat corrugated sheets or packed as straight lengths in cartons.
  • Makes up packaging for corrugated reels and boxes as requested for their line.
  • Maintains production standards as instructed.
  • Cuts production retains as instructed by the quality guidelines and numbers them according to when they came off the line.
  • Measures critical dimensions as instructed or test fits product on gages to ensure product quality per roll or box and writes measurements on a production report for the supervisor to follow-up and double check product.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing/extrusion experience preferred but not required


Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Physical stamina and agility to stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to be on your feet for 8 hr. shifts.
  • Ability to use hand tools for measurements as instructed and trained.
  • Ability to be on time and prompt for work hours and have a reliable means of transportation.
  • Basic reading skills (English)
  • Must be able to work in a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Must be able to withstand a hot production environment during summer months. Temps are generally 10 degrees warmer than outside ambient temperatures.

  • Plant working conditions: significant standing, walking, lifting. Wear safety glasses as required for job tasks.
  • Good verbal communication skills to communicate issues or ask questions.
