Tax Preparer

Location: Downtown Miami, FL (In-Person)

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal tax returns for individuals and businesses, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, 1120-S, 1040NR
• Manage tax preparation engagements from start to finish while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Review client financial records and identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Communicate directly with clients to request documentation, answer tax-related questions, and provide outstanding customer service.
• Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices and correspondence.
• Conduct tax research and stay current with changes in federal and state tax laws.
• Prepare tax projections and estimated tax payments when needed.
• Maintain organized workpapers and ensure compliance with firm quality standards.
• Collaborate with the bookkeeping and payroll teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Support clients throughout the year with tax planning and advisory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional tax preparation experience.
• Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, and 1120-S independently.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese (required).
• Strong knowledge of current federal and state tax regulations.
• Experience with professional tax software (Drake Tax is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
