Mobile Hydraulic Hose Sales & Service Technician
AC Hydraulics — Daytona Beach, FL
About the Role
AC Hydraulics is looking for a mechanically-inclined, self-motivated sales professional to join our team as a Mobile Hydraulic Hose Sales & Service Technician. You'll drive our company van directly to job sites — construction sites, fleet yards, agricultural operations, marine facilities, and industrial plants — to diagnose, repair, and replace hydraulic hoses and assemblies on-site, while also building relationships and growing accounts along the way.
This is a hybrid role: part technician, part outside salesperson. If you know your way around hydraulic systems and enjoy talking to customers, solving problems, and closing business, this is a great fit.
What You'll Do
- Drive a company-equipped service van to customer job sites throughout the Daytona Beach / Volusia County area
- Diagnose hydraulic hose and fitting failures on equipment (construction, agricultural, marine, industrial)
- Fabricate and install replacement hoses and assemblies on-site using mobile crimping equipment
- Identify additional service and sales opportunities at each stop (preventive maintenance, hose upgrades, fleet contracts)
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing commercial accounts
- Provide quotes, close sales, and follow up with customers to grow repeat business
- Maintain accurate service records, inventory on the van, and basic van maintenance
- Represent AC Hydraulics professionally in the field as the face of the company
What We're Looking For
- Experience with hydraulic hoses, fittings, and assemblies (or strong general mechanical/fluid power background)
- Comfort working independently in the field with minimal supervision
- Sales instincts — comfortable identifying opportunities and asking for the business
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift/handle hose reels and equipment, and work in outdoor/job-site conditions
- Prior experience in hydraulics, fluid power, mobile equipment repair, or industrial sales is a strong plus
Compensation
- Base pay: $22–$26/hour, based on experience — reflects current Florida market rates for experienced hydraulic hose technicians with sales responsibility
- Commission: 3–5% on service/sales tickets you generate and close in the field, paid monthly
- Company van, fuel card, and tools/equipment provided
- Realistic total compensation for an experienced tech who's also closing sales: $55,000–$70,000+/year
(Note: exact base and commission split should be finalized based on your target hire's experience level and how much new-business development vs. straight service call volume you expect from the role — happy to help you model out a few scenarios.)
Why AC Hydraulics
- Established, growing hydraulics shop serving Daytona Beach and the surrounding region
- Autonomy in the field — you run your van like your own business
- Direct impact on your paycheck through commission
- Steady, essential-service work — hydraulic failures don't wait
