Job description

Assistant Teacher (Part-Time)

ABC Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher to support a play-based, Christian early childhood education program. Working alongside the lead teacher, you'll help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom while fostering children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.


Schedule: Part-time, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM September–May (teacher training and workshop in August)


If looking for 5 days, we are also hiring for our Tuesday/Thursday session, 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM


Pay: $13,995 - $15,550 (salary dependent on qualifications and experience)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of preschool children.
  • Assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons.
  • Prepare, organize, and clean classroom materials and learning spaces.
  • Maintain attendance records and communicate important child-related information with families.
  • Support classroom routines, parent volunteers, and monthly staff meetings.
  • Follow health, safety, confidentiality, and sanitation procedures.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create a positive learning environment.


Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Passion for early childhood education and working with young children.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom.
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledgeable in the Christian faith
