Job description

Teacher of Applied Technology (9-12)

Engineering & Robotics

We are seeking a versatile Applied Technology teacher to lead our high school Engineering pathway and our Electronics & Robotics courses. The candidate will guide students through a four-year journey from basic design principles to advanced, independent honors projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electronics & Robotics: Teach the fundamentals of electricity, circuit design (series/parallel), DC motors, and robotics applications.
  • Engineering Pathway: Lead a multi-level curriculum focusing on the Engineering Design Process (EDP), structural engineering, and sustainable design.
  • Sustainable Innovation: Instruct students in Biomimicry Design Thinking, using nature-based solutions to solve modern environmental challenges.
  • Career Mentorship: Prepare students for the workforce through portfolio development and resume writing; mentor students through a year-long independent innovation project.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Valid NJ Instructional Certificate (Teacher of Industrial Arts or Technology).
  • Core Knowledge: Strong command of the Engineering Design Process, electronics theory and programming.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with 3D computer modeling, digital prototyping, and lab safety procedures.
  • Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with NJ Student Learning Standards for Career & Technical Education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VEX Robotics.
  • Familiarity with the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching.
  • Bilingual proficiency (a plus).

Salary:  

As per salary guide based on experience and earned degree level
Minimum $67,968 - maximum $99,181

In addition to the base salary, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package: 
including medical/vision, prescription and dental insurance, and paid time off.   Will be entered into the appropriate NJ Pension Program.
