About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team in Russellville, Arkansas. In this role, you will administer radiation treatments to patients under the direction of a radiation oncologist, playing a vital part in the care and recovery of individuals facing cancer diagnoses. You will work within a supportive, patient-centred team committed to delivering the highest standard of oncology care to our community.
This position is well suited to a new graduate or early-career radiation therapist looking to grow their clinical skills in an acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Position patients correctly for treatment using immobilisation devices and imaging guidance to ensure precision and consistency.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and CT simulators, in accordance with safety standards.
- Monitor patients during treatment, identify and respond to changes in condition, and communicate concerns to the supervising oncologist.
- Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families on the treatment process, expectations, and side effect management.
- Collaborate with dosimetrists, physicists, and oncology nursing staff to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or an equivalent accredited programme.
- Diploma or certification in Radiation Therapy.
- Registry eligible or registered as a Radiation Therapist in good standing (ARRT or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- One to two years of clinical experience in radiation therapy.
- Proficiency with Aria, Eclipse Treatment Planning, and Philips CT software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach to care.
