What You Will Do
  • Shift Supervision: Lead daily security operations, direct subordinate officers, and act as shift leader in the absence of senior management.
  • Access Control: Oversee entry screening, monitor main gates to ensure resident safety, and manage resident and guest access protocols.
  • Property and Community Patrol: Conduct advanced vehicular and foot patrols across community amenities and structures.
  • Department Training: Under the direction of leadership, participate in and/or conduct departmentspecific training for officers.
  • Incident Investigations: Conduct preliminary investigations into incidents, breaches, and accidents; prepare and file detailed reports.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the initial response to alarms, suspicious activity, and medical or safety emergencies, coordinating directly with local first responders.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Pennsylvania Act 235 Certification.
  • Valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearm.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate progressive experience in community public safety, private security, or law enforcement, with prior leadership or field training experience.
  • Special Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in the role of Public Safety Security Officer experience required or three years of equivalent combination of education, military and/or relevant experience.
  • Required Certification(s): Act 235, Pepper Spray/Foam, Expandable Baton, Handcuffing, Firearms Training.
  • First Aid Certification: Current certification(s) for Adult and Child CPR/First Aid/AED.
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during outdoor foot patrols.
  • Ability to sit and operate a patrol vehicle safely for long intervals.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds during emergencies.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, and cold).
  • Schedule Requirements
  • 24/7/365 Work Environment: This position requires complete scheduling flexibility.
  • Shifts and hours vary, and regular availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
