JOB SUMMARY

The Revenue Cycle Department is looking for a Customer Account Analyst I to join the team. What you'll do:

  • Participate in a comprehensive 12-week training programdesigned to set you up for success.
  • Utilize our cutting-edge knowledge-based softwareto quickly access documents and adapt to training in real time.
  • Deliver a world-class patient experienceby handling billing inquiries with professionalism and care.
  • Update patient demographicsaccurately and efficiently.
  • Resolve billing concernsand provide clear, empathetic support to patients.
  • Navigate challenging conversations with patience and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with a team of Customer Account Analysts, Team Leads, and Supervisors to improve processes and enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Shift: 8am-5pm, non-negotiable
  • Work From Home (WFH): This position offers you the opportunity to work from home (WFH). Additional details regarding work from home are to be discussed during the interview. Must live in the state of Texas.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Required
  • Education
    High School Diploma or equivalent and
  • Experience
    2 years Directly related medical billing and customer service experience for billing inquiries.
Preferred
  • Education
    Some college
Job Duties

May perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Answer incoming calls pertaining to patient inquiries.
  • Handle outbound dialer calls related to patient balances.
  • Take credit card payments over the telephone and post to patient's accounts accurately.
  • Set up monthly payment plans on patient accounts.
  • Add or correct insurance registration and files claims accordingly.
  • Update demographics to include address and telephone numbers based on patient's telephone calls.
  • Document all actions taken on accounts in the system account notes to ensure all prior actions are noted and understandable by others.
  • Assist patients with various MyChart billing inquiries to include payment, payment plans, and insurance updates.
  • Assist patient with questions regarding their Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
  • Review accounts to resolve discrepancies in account balances and ensure payments are in accordance with the respective contract, appropriate discounts or applicable write-off completed. Including posting any undistributed credits while talking to the patient.
  • Attend seminars, webinars, workshops, and actively participate in Occupational Training and Development and Compliance educational activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of all university applicable rules, regulations, policies, guidelines that impact Billing Operations; seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding of job functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to handle stressful situations including discussing outstanding balances with patients and taking the appropriate action.
  • Work requires a high level of customer service and the ability to maintain friendly and appropriate communication with patients, client staff, insurance companies, and employees.
  • Work requires strong organizational skills.
  • Work requires strong oral and written communication skills, including the use of medical terminology
